Privacy policy

We do not ask you to create an account, we do not sell data, and we do not run advertising trackers. What we do collect is analytics about how pages are used, and whatever you voluntarily type into the contact form. That is the whole picture; the rest of this page is the detail.

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which links are used. It records things like the pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. It sets cookies in your browser to do this.

We also record when someone clicks a link out to Amazon, and which link it was. That tells us which pages are useful. It does not tell us who you are, and we receive nothing back from Amazon about what you do after you arrive there.

You can block all of this with any standard browser content blocker or by disabling JavaScript, and the site will work normally without it.

If you use the form on the contact page, we receive the name, email address and message you type. We use them to reply to you and for nothing else. They are delivered to our own mailbox by email; there is no database of enquiries and no mailing list to be added to.

The form includes basic anti-spam measures: a hidden field that automated scripts fill in and humans do not, a check on how long the form was open, and a limit on submissions from the same network address per hour. That limit works from your IP address, which is held only in memory and only briefly.

• No accounts. There is nothing to sign into and no password stored anywhere.
• No advertising network. No display ads, no retargeting pixels, no advertising cookies.
• No selling or sharing of personal data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
• No newsletter. There is no mailing list, so there is nothing to unsubscribe from.
• No payment processing. Nothing is sold here, so no payment details ever reach this site.

Google Analytics. Analytics data is processed by Google under its own privacy terms.

Our hosting provider. The site is served by a hosting platform which keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and operational purposes.

Amazon. When you follow a link to Amazon, you are on Amazon’s site and its privacy policy applies. Our link tells Amazon the visit came from us so a signup can be attributed, which is how the site is funded — explained in full here. It does not tell them anything about you that they would not otherwise have.

• Block analytics. A browser content blocker, tracking protection, or Google’s own opt-out will stop analytics collection.
• Clear cookies. Your browser can clear or block cookies for this site at any time. Nothing here depends on them.
• Do not use the form. Email us instead if you prefer — the address is below and it goes to the same place.
• Ask us to delete your message. Email us and we will delete the correspondence.
